The purpose of this site is educational. We wish to gather and make available information about the life of Ernest H. Buehl, as well as information that sets his life in the context of his times. We wish first of all to make material freely available to educators and academic researchers, to be reused in ways that make sense to them.

We are using a Creative Commons license, the link appearing at the bottom of this page. It is the "attribution Non-commercial" form of license. This is a rather unrestricted form of license, requiring only attribution of the work's authorship and that the use be noncommercial. These restrictions can be waived, though, with permission from the copyright holder.

We follow the way Wikipedia handles the issue of acknowledgment of authorship: a direct link back to the article satisfies the attribution requirement.

Contributors must agree that material that they contribute to this site may be copied, modified, and redistributed. Anyone contributing material to this site must either hold the copyright to the material, because he or she personally created the material, or has been granted permission to use it. When external material is used, acknowledgement of authorship and, when possible, a link back to the original material must be provided. The contributor is responsible for acquiring permissions to use the copyrighted work of others. If copyrighted material appears on this site in a case in which permissions are not obtained, the site will remove it. Also, see the discussion of "orphan works."

The license granted here for use of the material cannot be retracted by the contributor of a page to this site, although the contributor may request that their page be removed from this site. Anyone using this material retains the permissions in effect at the time that it was first copied and/or redistributed.
