Connie Wolf, wife of General Abby Wolf and a friend of Ernie's, was a helium balloonist and at one time held the women's high altitude ballooning record. She was nominated posthumously for the FAI Ballooning Commission Hall of Fame.
Ernie attempts to fly his Challenger to a 36th anniversary commemoration of the inauguration of transcontinental airmail service. On hand to honor him were former postmaster Joseph F. Gallagher, and Postmaster Raymond Thomas.

Grand Forks. Aviators guests of Club: served in war in opposing armies. Pilot Harry Meyers flew for US, and article says that Ernie "served as an aviator with the German army..."
Edmonton Journal. Feb 27 1921 Gorman and Fullerton head for Peace River, stopping off for 10 days at Slave Lake, then on to Ft. Norman. Ernie is not mentioned.
probably the Edmonton Journal, March 5, 1921. Gorman and Fullerton arrive at Peace River. This is the first airplane to land at Peace River and the whole town turns out to see them land. Ernie is on this flight.
